In the Christian religion, January 6th we celebrate the Epiphany (the 12th day after Christmas) with the Adoration of the
Magi, and confirming witness that Jesus Christ is the
incarnation of the Son of God.
In Florence, the celebration of the Epiphany takes place with a large and long parade with beautiful period costumes that evoke the
arrival of the three wise men (the Magi) in the small town of
Bethlehem to greet the newborn Messiah. It 'a show that is really worth seeing and, at the same
time, it could be an opportunity to visit the city during Christmas and
maybe why not extend the stay until January-)
The celebration takes us back in time to 1417, when the solemn procession of the Magi was
repeated every 3 or 5 years; I also took part in
the male members of the family De 'Medici.
